NEW RELEASES at Clerkenwell Design Week 2013

Continuing our success from Maison et Objet earlier in the year Clerkenwell Design Week was the perfect platform to showcase our new products. This included three brand new pendant lights, expanding our lighting selection, in addition to our new Element Vessel series.

With Clerkenwell Design Week boasting over 60 showrooms and a wealth of creative businesses we were pleased to be displaying there once again. This year our stand was situated on the previously unseen top floor of the Farmiloe Building, contrasting to our former dark surroundings in the House of Detention two years back.

With 55,000 people registering across the three day event there was an inevitable Clerkenwell buzz in the area, creating a welcoming vibe that did not disappoint.

Element Vessel

Based on the popular reaction our original Element Vessel Range has seen in recent shows, we gave you the first glimpse of our new additions at Clerkenwell 2013. These new Element Vessels are hand crafted in the UK from Terracotta, Earthenware, Oak and Cork. The unglazed outer surface offers an honest yet beautiful aesthetic. The dark rich glaze on the interior of each Vessel has been applied to hold liquids, making this product perfect as a Vase, Decanter or as a purely decorative item. Receiving a fantastic reaction at the show, as a more accessible and functional progression from the original range.

Tied-Up Pendant Lamp

Tied-Up is a self-assembled pendant lamp which cleverly utilises the prime functions of an industrial cable-tie. 26 of these cable ties are cleverly locked into position by a combination of turned wood and spun metal components at the top and a steel cog at the base. The difference in diameter at the two ends of the pendant gives the cables a beautiful, natural curve, designed to accentuate the radiant large bulb nestled inside. The flowing frame of the Tied-Up Pendant Lamp caters for group and individual lighting arrangements for the home, as well as more public and commercial environments.

These bold lines created a striking contrast to the weathered backdrop of the Farmiloe building, warranting a great response. The Tied-Up Pendent Lamp is looking to be the next product to go on sale from Vitamin.

Cloak Pendent Lamp

The Cloak Pendent Lamp uses a premium glass dome to encase a beautifully crafted wooden sphere. The natural beauty of the oak and walnut globes are enhanced by the thick layer of glass draped over them, whilst the glass itself seems to hover weightlessly over the wooden form. The LED spotlight sat within the sphere omits an elegantly powerful yet dispersed glow, making these lights both beautiful and incredibly effective.

Hooked Pendant Lamp

The Hooked Pendant Lamp consists of a seductively tinted hand blown glass shade, enveloped around a conical wire frame. The central wire frame comprises of a hooked foot, which supports the shade and ascends up through the product to meet the fabric flex. The combination of the jet black wire cage and smoked-grey glass – give the pendant a premium and refined aesthetic, making this product perfect for both domestic and retail applications.

In correlation with the exhibition, we are very happy to have had our products featured in print and online including the influential online magazine; Dezeen.

The team at Vitamin would like to thank Clerkenwell Design Week for producing and organising once again a superb creative event. We would also like to thank everyone who visited our stand and those who have featured our work since the show. We will be exhibition at Design Junction later in the year and look forward to receiving your support once again.
